| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Foamed out of the botttle when opened, and naturally made a huge white head in the glass, this rapidly deflated, made attractive lacing, over a very slightly cloudy golden orange (SRM 10) body.....nose has toffee, light pine, slight citrus, bit of cocoa.....tastes of toffee, cocoa, light grapefruit, with a mild hop bitter finish....mouth feel is light to medium, carbonation, after the initial explosion was medium.....this is a rather light APA, especially when compared to the bigger guns. I certainly agree with the commercial discription. steview (902), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2009 I like it: kind of zesty with bittersweet notes of grapefruit and honey; solid overall - a great, basic, and hoppy ale that can do well with typical American meals or alone. Like the commercial description states, I think it makes a great crossover beer because of how it "teases the hopheads" and hopefully "satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers." | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Pours an orange-amber color with a thick frothy head with low carbonation. Aroma is a light citrus with some light pine, caramel, toasted malt sweetness and a pretty good bready ending. Flavor starts off with a great bread flavor and moves into a light caramel and citrus flavor ending with a light honey flavor and sweetness. Density of the beer is light and the carbonation is light as well which leaves a great lacing on the glass. Overall a very good, basic, every day beer that you could have any time and all the time. pilsnerrogge (1792), Finspång, Sweden
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 5, 2009 On tap @ The Ginger Man, NYC: Amber colour, small-ish head. Moderatly hoppy aroma. Somewhat watery mouth feel. Decent hoppy bitterness with some small notes of cork and plastic......hmmm. JaBier (1261), Capital City, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2009 Bottle from Pace High Carryout. A bit afraid of this one because some of their hoppy beers had been there for a while (they still had ’08 Yulesmith Summer). Clear gold/copper color with a big white head. Pale malt aroma with some bitter piney hop influence. Pale malt flavor up front with some piney hops and a thin finish. Tasted pretty fresh (a relief), but still not very impressive overall. tekhna (118), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 29, 2009 I hardly ever use drinkability as a metric for assessing a beer, but damn, this is a nice session beer. Nice american hops, good balance. Flavor and aroma just right. I think I’d tend ot rate this one higher than I otherwise might, if only because it’s nice to find a good new session beer. j12601 (1340), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours a lightly hazy ruby amber with a large white head. Nice pine and citrus notes, touch of pineapple, and a background of malt. Slightly sweet, light spiciness on a medium body. Nice grapefruit bitterness to balance it out.
