Cask at a Spoons in Manchester. A hazy amber beer with a dense off-white head, due to being served thru a sparkler. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, caramel, and grain, leading to a bitter citrusy finish.

A Mes rate: cask at Baker St ’Sporks.
Clean golden colour with a slight brown tinge and a thin off white head. No sparkler! This place is definitely on the up... This is actually really good. A very well balanced blend of big grassy hops with a good citric bite on top of a well behaved biscuit malt base with just a slight hint of caramel. Lovely mineral note in the finish with a restrained but classy dryness on the palate. Superbly drinkable. A really good drop of English. I only stopped in for a quick one on my way home after a few Chimays with Alan but this was a really pleasant surprise. Served in very good condition (as is increasingly the case at this place) and certainly one of the best I have had from Beartown. Yum.

Cask at the Market Porter. Spicy aroma. Dark amber color with a white head. Medium body with smooth carbonation. Flavor is likely caramel malt, but it’s strongly overlaid with hottish spice - not pepper - ginger? Something like that. Really refreshing.

Cask at the Hare And Hounds in Maghull, on the Ember Inns beer festival. Slight toffee flavour and light fruitiness, not bad actually.

[Cask at The Three Judges] Tawny with a moderate head, good clarity. Toffee aroma with some fruity (figs?) . Sweet upfront, dry.

[CASK: The Lass-O-Gowry, Manchester 12/11/06] A nice all round ale. Good taste and nice easy drinking ale. Try if you find.

Aroma gives toffee malts and some fruit, apples coming through particularly. Taste is again toffee but fruityness seems to be orange this time. Not a god beer.

Cask Conditioned at the Hop Pole Inn, Aylesbury. Golden. Sweet, malty and fruity with a bitter edge. Drinkable if not remarkable.
