The flavours from the malt and hops blend with the added bite from the root ginger to produce a superbly quenching finish.

Cask @ The Pembury fest, Nov ’07.
Golden and hazy with a small white head. I’ll spoil the surprise, it smells of ginger. More ginger in the taste, slightly sweet and hoppy. Dry hoppy, ginger finish. Not outstanding.

(Cask at White House Hotel pub, Peel, on 2008-07-05) Pale yellow. Clear. Small dense white head. Ginger and lightly malts in nose. Medium and dry palate with sting from ginger. Ginger, hops, malts and some bitterness in taste. Ginger brings slightly hot aftertaste. Interesting and not bad.

Cask at JDW Ruislip Mannor. Yellow with a mild haze and no head despite fair carbonation. Sweet malts without much hop characture, but the ginger catches you all of a sudden and elevates this to a dry thirst quencher.

Cask at JDW ... Yellow very light haze ... loads of ginger in nose ... hoppy it takes a long time for ginger to build ... bit of bite on tongue ...lacking something but still quite nice.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Cloudy straw coloured with a thin white head; a fresh ginger aroma; refreshing in the mouth with ginger and citrus; pleasantly bitter finish with more warming ginger. Great if you are in to ginger, and much better than the Shakemantle Ginger Ale that also features in the JDW Festival.
