dnas2 (524), Yelverton, Devon., Devon, England Jun 22, 2006 Cask Handpump at The Wellington, Birmingham. Golden, slightly cloudy at first, with a very short head. Slight smokey-citrus scent, wheat flavour and a very slight bitterness. Very watery. DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Dec 21, 2005 1. Mildly smooth on the palate with some wheat flavours. Slightly bitter aftertaste.
2. Cask Stillage (Take Out) at the Albion Ale House, Clayton Le Moors 19/07/2001
Straw coloured with some sour fruit flavours and a hop finish. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Apr 21, 2005 Cask@The Magpie&Crown, Brentford, London. Wheat beers always taste a bit funny on cask to me. This was more of an American wheat to me, in that it showed a bit of floral hop in the aroma and in the flavour. Wheaty and then hoppy, on the dry side, doesn’t quite come together, but its still drinkable. haddonsman (1205), Derby, Derbyshire, England Jan 25, 2005 Cask at Babington Arms, Derby. Only a hint of haze to the light gold body, just a whiff of wheat too, all very subtle. As a wheat beer it’s found wanting, no bite to it at all, but as a light/pale refreshing ale it’s OK - fairly citirc, pleasingly sweet notes, bit of bitter left at the end. Not bad. leaparsons (4057), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Sep 22, 2004 Bottled. Hazy gold in appearance. Aromas are sweet pine hips and wheat. Flavours are sweet grain, wheat and pone with caramel malt body. Quite viscous in mouthfeel with a dry finish. Not a true wheat beer - it lacks the acidicy of other English wheats.
