Jul 8, 2009 Growler shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- c/o tupalev. Filled May 9/09, drank May 22. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with an average size white head. Decent lacing. Aroma’s a bit buttery (maybe diacytl?) along with some grain and light floral hops. Grainy flavour, buttery again, along with hops and a long bitter finish. Average bodied. Good but I expected better.

Jul 3, 2009 I like you - you’ve got beaver, I LIKE beaver! Great dimension and hop character for the style. Big earthy herbal hops with pine and some grapefruit pith, solidly fruity malt balance. Nice late bitter finish. Pretty stunning Ontario debut!

Jun 28, 2009 On tap at Pub Italia, Ottawa. Pours a nice hazy amber body with average carbonation and a thin off-white creamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with some grainy/bready hints. Its sharp, well balanced hoppy taste ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Well done.

Jun 16, 2009 A golden amber ale with a thick off white head. In aroma, a nice lightly floral hops, oranges, caramel malt. In mouth, a good malt base with nice floral hops, with developing grapefruit notes. Medium bodied. One of the best Beau’s offering. On tap at Black Tomato, May 2009.

Jun 15, 2009 Really impressed with this beer. Hop smell and taste. Not as intense hop bitterness as other IPA’s. But a much smoother taste. Tip of the hat goes to the boys at Beau’s, great seasonal.

Jun 11, 2009 [2133-20090508] Tap. Mild citrus pip orange zest aroma has a sweet and fruity zip with wet earthy undertones. Clear, medium orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Bitter wet grass hops flavour has dry dusty earth notes and a mild butter finish. Medium body has a solid bitter base. Good balance.

Jun 10, 2009 Grolwer shared with Hogtown Harry, Garthicus, Blankboy, and GregClow, couretsy of me via my friend jay. Growler filled on May 9th, drank May 22. Orange pour, small white head. Nice hoppy and malt aroma, but a little buttery and that scares me. Good hop taste, but a ton of buttery flavour as well. Boo! Much more on the APA side of things I think - certainly does not stand out in the Ontario APA/IPA malty market as I was lead to believe. Would rate a couple of points higher without the butter, but I think we drank it within a reasonable time frame for a growler.

Jun 2, 2009 Growler. Shared by tupalev with me, blankboy, garthicus and gregclow. Filled May 9/09, drank May 22. Clear copper with an average off-white head. Dry floral/herbal aroma, light roast grain - and diacetyl, quite a lot of it. Taste was leafy, buttery and - I swear! - like panther sweat (don’t ask); pungent. Thickish body, moderate carbonation, slightly harsh oily bitterness in the aftertaste - quite generic and buttery, but still almost a borderline decent effort, by Ontario standards anyway.
