SamGamgee (593), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jun 22, 2008 Updated: Jun 23, 2008 33cl bottle. The aroma was devoid of skunkage for the most part, but the hops seemed to give it a pissy quality that didn’t really agree with me. Moderately thin malt body with just enough hop bitterness in the finish to let you know that you are not drinking an american macro. Amazing what a little hops can do for a beer, though the malts don’t add much to the equation. Light and refreshing anyway. I would get this again if the other option was Heineken.(2.5) Rerate: who knew I would get a second crack at this in a two day period? Well, some more examination delivered a pretty bland and lifeless beer with a harsh mouthfeel. Still a cut above most macro lager, but hardly worth worrying about.
kcmo19 (30), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pale yellow, skunky, thin and dry. It’s decent, but very forgettable. TheBeerMaster (100), Little Falls, New Jersey, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pale yellow lager, light flavor but a skunky aftertaste which I personally enjoyed. A pretty quenching beer. Kiwi_Jonno (56), Christchurch, New Zealand Oct 12, 2008 On Tap. Pale yellow beer. Slight grassy aroma. Thin plate, light in flavour and malt. Has a slightly stronger hop finish then others in this style (eg: Carlsberg). Quenching lager. JonnyDr (112), , South Yorkshire, England Oct 1, 2008 Pale yellow pour with diminishing frothy head. Hoppy aroma and grainy start leading to skunky finish. Best of the rip off ’premium’ beers found in English pubs. Which says nothing. cgreb (57), Marburg, Germany Sep 29, 2008 on tap - yellow golden beer with white head. Very unpleasent skunk aroma. Dry hops aroma.
