Pours ruby/copper with a decent white head that then proceeded to grow into a towering mound well above the rim of the glass, and left lots of lacing. Aroma is a mix of brown sugar, resinous hops, caramel, confectionery, white wine and bread. What an eclectic mix! Quite nice though! Many of the above aromas are mirrored in the flavours, in particular, sweet caramel, bready malt and resinous hops. Finishes with a very tame bitterness, which lets the malt dominate in an overly sweet manner. Body feels slightly watery, and I think a bit more carbonation might have helped to create a drier finish.

Poured a deep amber hue with fizzy head. Nose is unique malt, although not too interesting. In the mouth it is a little thin but has a unique character. Didn’t really agree with me.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish brown a bubbly light tan head. Aroma has notes of toffee, malt, apple and berries. Flavour is similar, though less sweet, and has more emphasis on the malt and less fruit. Dry and highly carbonated with a dry, bitter finish. Not too bad but not particularly memorable either.

Bottle 330ml. Poured hazy burnt copper with an averaged sized, frothy, lightly tanned head which lasted well. Aroma was of toffee malts with light notes of earthy hops, caramel, nuts, Anzac biscuits, overripe peaches and sultana’s. Flavor was smooth with a light earthy hop bitterness, slightly buttery toffee malts, caramel, red berries and ripe nectarines and a nutty finish. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, watery texture and a decent length finish. Seemed more an ESB than it did an Irish Red IMO.

Bottle. A semi gusher with half the remaining beer creeping its way out from the bottle. It pours copper with a large beige head. There’s a strong candy apple aroma and flavour (acetaldehyde perhaps?) and has metallic and phenolic off-flavours - safe to say this is an infected batch. Tough to drink so I let the drain enjoy this one. Disappointing to have tried a bad bottle.

Tried on tap at the brewery. Tawny brown body with light tan head. Smooth malt taste (toffee) with a little hit of hops on the finish.

A big, slightly unbalanced rough bear of a beer. Very unrefined but interesting. Nutty bold and blistering flavours. Could be more subtle.
