Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Chestnut colour. Fairly weighty in alcohol terms for a UK bitter but drinks easily enough. Very well judged balance of chewy malt and tangy, spicy hops, although the aroma is quite subtle and restrained. Plummy fruit comes through on the palate. Plenty of body and grip on the finish. Mothfeel is clean as a whistle. Very nice.

Cask gravity at the Abbotskerswell Beer and Food Festival, 07/10/2006. A dark brown colour. A strong aroma of plum and dark fruits with caramel sweetness. Quite malty with honey. It was nice enough, but I was hoping for better.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 06. Copper/brown colour with off white head. Red berry/yeast aroma with a bit of vanilla. Quite good hp. I like the fruit which has red berries running throughout the beer.

Cask @ Reading 06: Amber in colour. Caramel start with a mildly earthy hop finish. Ok but nothing special

Cask Conditioned at The Beer Engine, Newton St Cyres, Devon. Brown amber beer with sticky white head. Sweet malty beer with a plummy background and bags of hops. Nicely bitter on the finish, a very decent premium bitter.
