The hoppiness really worked for this beer. Very very nice. JoeTheYounger (293), California, USA

This was a birthday gift from my buddy Pat, who purchased it at Lone Hill Liquor in Glendora, CA. Very good fresh hop aroma. Very different for an imperial stout. I really really liked this one. Awesome stuff. I want to go buy some more. mcbeyond (33), Newport Beach, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 15, 2009 2008 edition. A very pleasant surprise. I wouldn’t call it hoppy, but definitely aromatic and toasty. Seems to have smoothed out quite a bit with just a year of age. Dangerously drinkable and tasty. mjg74 (2000), La Mesa, California, USA

Doesn’t seem as dark as the original release. Some roasted malt qualities in the nose with a huge hop aroma. Super hoppy scent for a stout. Very nice roasted flavors with some coffee and chocolate. Great hoppiness as well. The bitter hoppy finish gives this beer a really nice drink-ability for its hugeness. SHIG (2043), Aviano, Italy
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Bottle: Poured a deep black with a brown accented edges, head was tan. Aroma is hops which somewhat hide the coffee and roasted malt. Taste is coffe bean and malt, the hops seemed to blend well instead of over shadowing the stout experience. Rather delightful beer! jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown pour with a nice sized creamy brown head. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is roasty malt and a deep citrus hop presence peeking through. Tastes roasty and of light coffee with a lingering citrus hop bitterness. Some light cocoa as well. I love the addition of a hoppy presence over the original. Outside of the realm of many impys and imho, much better! jarspag (600), Los Angeles, California, USA
