Bottle, shared. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. The flavor has some plum / dark fruit, roasted coffee, with a pretty acidic finish.

Thanks to FlacoAlto for the bomber. Deep brown pour with a medium head. Fairly good retention. Aroma of roasted malts and bitter coffee. A highly hopped stout that you can feel on your tongue. Grassy, perfumy, piney hops.

A bit too hoppy for my tastes, but definitely more balanced than Black Sun. Alcohol is well masked. Nicely bitter aftertaste. Well done, especially if you like hoppy stouts.

Pours black, very black, with a very thin brown head, takes a very strong pour to get any density. Big bitter coffee and bakers chocolate aroma. Hops were strong, a bit overpowering, but this was probably intended to age well, so the hops will eventually settle a bit. A big bitter chocolate taste, with some licorice in the finish. This was to bitter at the moment and still a bit hot with alcohol. This will probably improve really well with age.

Poured black with tan head. Aroma of fruit, chocolate, and roasted coffee. Big roasted flavor with hints of hops and chocolate. Finished on the harsher side. You can taste all 11% of this one. Bottle courtesy of wethrel.

Some lactose-sweetness in the aroma, with roasted malts. Very non-complex and typical for the average Impy Stout. Pretty thin and not very smooth. Lots of caramel and cocoa in the flavor. The alcohol is pretty obvious.

Yet another extra from footy (you rule, man!) - fizzy black beer, with a small ring of tan lace - aroma of wet ash, tobacco, leather - fairly high carbonation in the mouth - flavors of spent coffee grounds, tobacco, burnt brown sugar - rather high bitterness - ashy finish, with strong alcohol - a beer for people that eat steak at every meal and chew on cigars all day long - not my thing so much.

Bomber from cbkschubert last year; Nose of chocolate, roasty smokiness, and light hopiness; opaque black with a virtually non exsistant head; flavor is bittersweet chocolate, licorise, and slight hop bitterness and alcohol lasting to the finish. Interesting but not great!

Upon its release from the 22 ounce brown bottle, the beer sets in the glass and soot black with a portly chocolate brown creamy head that slowly fades away leaving a thick coating of lace to obfuscate the glass. Nose has a large burnt grain aroma, bittersweet chocolate also present, and all backed up by a hint of malt and fusel alcohol, “Woo Hoo”, you gotta love it. Start is thick and chocolaty, heavy burnt grain and a definite alcohol bitterness, full in its feel to the palate. Finish is packed with hops and alcohol, the acidity pleasant. A “Stout Lovers Stout” this beer, and well worth a try.
