22oz bottle from HiTime. Inky black and quite dense, with almost no carbonation. But the rich roasts and chocolate aromas instantly let you know this will be just dandy. Not quite as thick as some brews with similar profiles, this one is dank and lovely, with a strangely dry finish for such a chewy beer. Quite nice.

Bottle. A black beer with a small brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, licorice, chocolate, dark fruits and alcohol. The taste is light sweet, roasted malt, licorice, rye bread, chocolate and alcohol. Medium to full body with a long rye bread finish. Very nise!

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of sk8viking - Santa Fe version. Opaque and pitch black with the tiniest light brown head - a little flat. Very vinous aroma with lots of raisins. Extremely full-bodied, sweetish, roasted malt accents, lots of dried fruit and a vague, ashy edge. Sweet finish without much bitterness. A lovely sipper and a bit underrated IMHO. 160607

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is very sweet malty combined with notes of chocolate and coffee as well as light notes of alcohol and citrus from the hops. The flavor is sweet with very strong notes of coffee and chocolate, as well as medium notes of caramel. It is quite thick in the body.

Bottle. Spare light brown head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Color was very dark looking. First notes were heavy malt base aroma with chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Then came lovely berries, prune and liquorish. Somewhat vinous in the feel, almost to the point of a good port wine. Also hint of vanilla and over the palate a hint of soy sauce. Extremely full bodied with a flat carbonation and a thick but still slick and light alcoholic texture. For 11,5% it goes down surprisingly smooth. Moderated to almost heavy sweet flavor caused by the malt, with light somewhat burned bitter notes to balance this lovely Imperial Stout. Sweet average duration liquorish finish.

Dark black with almost no head or lacing. Aroma is heavily roasted with PNW (I think) hop notes. Chocolate, darker fruits and alcohol present as well. Sweet chocoholic finish. Overall enjoyable, but for the style something was lacking.
