Jun 17, 2007 Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is very sweet malty combined with notes of chocolate and coffee as well as light notes of alcohol and citrus from the hops. The flavor is sweet with very strong notes of coffee and chocolate, as well as medium notes of caramel. It is quite thick in the body.

Feb 25, 2008 Updated: Apr 25, 2008Bottled. Extremely black, rich firm beige head. Lots of salty licorice up front. Sweet and soft, yet very powerful. Espresso meets tobacco, but salt licorice dominates. Aniseed and alcohol combines to a pleasant ouzo flavour. Citric hops chime in and gives it a real bite in the bitterness. I really like it!

Jun 17, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of sk8viking - Santa Fe version. Opaque and pitch black with the tiniest light brown head - a little flat. Very vinous aroma with lots of raisins. Extremely full-bodied, sweetish, roasted malt accents, lots of dried fruit and a vague, ashy edge. Sweet finish without much bitterness. A lovely sipper and a bit underrated IMHO. 160607

Jun 30, 2007 RBSG07. From bottle. Pours balck with a chocolate brown head. Aroma is VERY surprisingly hoppy in a orange fruity way with a malt sweetness beneath. Very nice. Flavour is sweet as first but goes very dry in an instant, after the first sip the sweetness starts to stick. Ending very dry malty and strong bitter hops, still slight floral.
