22 oz. bottle - dark amber with slight haze; low carbonation and thin white head; sugar, dank fruit, lemons, quite sweet and piney; very dry and fruity; ABV is well hidden, but still pretty blah overall; astringent finish

Sampled at the Hopsnobbery Collective barley wine tasting on 3.14.09. Clear amber pour. Sweet and malty aroma with some fruit and a touch of hop. Flavor is about the same.

Thanks IBrew2or3 for the share. Pours yellow brown with lots of particulates and an off-white head. Nose is caramel, raisin, malt, sweetness, brown sugar, and some yeast. Flavor is a ton of malt, caramel, and a medium amount of hoppiness. Medium bodied and enjoyable.

Bottle, courtesy Ibrew2or3. Copper red pour, thin filmy head and lacing. Big rich caramel in the nose, some fruit, brown sugar, some plum. Malty flavors, big on hops too, rich creamy malty chocolate flavors. Very balanced, delicious and full-bodied. Yummy.

Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of bready yeast, caramel, honey, syrup, some floral citrus and grapefruit notes in the background. Flavor is malty and sweet with notes of honey, caramel, pine, floral esters, some hints of spice. Generally medium body with a pleasing finish.

Turbid orange pour with off-white head. Nose is bready caramel malt, fruity hops, berry, cherry, spicy. Tastes citric at first, with tangerine, pineapple, then the caramel malt and fermented fruit kicks in a bit, but this one predominantly comes off like a very malty tropical fruity hop bomb with good balance. This one may be more of an IIPA than barleywine, but it is very good regardless of classification.

Pours an orange color with light tan head. Hoppy, citrus, biscuits, and caramel malt. Definitely leaning towards the bitter side. Far to expensive for a mediocre barley wine.

Dark golden pour with a real hoppy aroma. Had more malt character than hops in the flavor which was odd. Really unpleasant for hops. Had a very detergent-like taste. Very unblended. Needs either age or reformulation.
