bottle. Not very good. Metallic and plastic off flavors makes me think I got a bad bottle.

Bottle from BevMo, La Mesa. Pours a brownish/amber color. Very little carbonation. Sugary sweet aroma with some hoppiness. Balanced malts and hoppiness. Finish is somewhat bitter with a touch of alcohol. Pretty mellow.

Good, but a little on the light side for a barleywine. Deep amberish brown coloring, with a small white head that recedes quickly. Rich and very much on the malty side, some sweet caramel, dates and toffee with some cinnamon and brown sugar. Hops are very apparent but not aggressive. Stays pretty true to style.

Pours caramel with some white bubbles. Smells of sweet caramel and some citrus. Tastes bitter with some grassy hints on the finish.

When first opening the bottle, almost a fruity aroma escaped. However, its more along the line of hops now. Poured a very big head. Was worried that it was going to overflow the glass, but didn’t. Cloudy brown body. Large head. Flavor definately leans toward the side of malt in this one. Yes, there are hops there too, but I’d probably put it smack dab in the center between the Bigfoot and Old Nick ends of the barleywine spectrum. Very nicely balanced, with a nice warming on the back of the throat after a couple of minutes. While the body is definately heavier than a normal style of beer, its not nearly as syrupy as some I’ve had. Would buy again if it weren’t $9/bottle!!!!

Bomber from Beverage Warehouse in La. Pours dark orange with a 2 finger tan head. Nose is sweet and it portends a mediocre beer. Taste is sweet and one dimensional. Ok overall nice name.

Pours a deep amber into my Duvel Tulip. Nice sized white head with fairly large bubbles. Head seems to last well. Aroma of currant and sweet alcohol. Flavor is I well balanced, while quite hoppy it cuts through the sweetness and the alcohol. All very harmonious. Very nice beer with a not a very long finish.

Bottled at Papsoes Blind tasting 19th. June 2008 no 24: Light amber coloured. Unclear. Light brown head. Pine, herbs, flowers, sweetness and light spice in the aroma. Flavour of caramel, spice and herbs. Medium to full bodied. Dry. Bitter end with some grapish sweetness. Nice.
