| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Good, but a little on the light side for a barleywine. Deep amberish brown coloring, with a small white head that recedes quickly. Rich and very much on the malty side, some sweet caramel, dates and toffee with some cinnamon and brown sugar. Hops are very apparent but not aggressive. Stays pretty true to style. Cletus (5059), Connecticut, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 19, 2008 When first opening the bottle, almost a fruity aroma escaped. However, its more along the line of hops now. Poured a very big head. Was worried that it was going to overflow the glass, but didn’t. Cloudy brown body. Large head. Flavor definately leans toward the side of malt in this one. Yes, there are hops there too, but I’d probably put it smack dab in the center between the Bigfoot and Old Nick ends of the barleywine spectrum. Very nicely balanced, with a nice warming on the back of the throat after a couple of minutes. While the body is definately heavier than a normal style of beer, its not nearly as syrupy as some I’ve had. Would buy again if it weren’t $9/bottle!!!! Nose is sweet and it portends a mediocre beer. Taste is sweet and one dimensional. Ok overall nice name. highibus (444), Mill Creek, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Pours a deep amber into my Duvel Tulip. Nice sized white head with fairly large bubbles. Head seems to last well. Aroma of currant and sweet alcohol. Flavor is I well balanced, while quite hoppy it cuts through the sweetness and the alcohol. All very harmonious. Very nice beer with a not a very long finish. madsberg (5072), Søborg, Denmark
