Commercial Description:
Hop Harvest Edition was brewed in September of 2008 using 200 lbs of fresh Treasure Valley Chinook hop flowers from the John Wilmunster hop farm in Greenleaf, ID. A huge, fresh grapefruit profile complements the malty sweetness of this 9%, 100+ IBU fresh hop beer. Leafer Madness Imperial Pale Ale - 2008 Hop Harvest Edition has a green bottle cap and is hand stamped with "2008 Hop Harvest Edition" on the right side of the label.

Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a clear amber with a small bubbly white head. Bitter pine hops aroma, with a bit of malt and citrus.Taste of hops, pine, citrus, malt, and a hint of sugar. Lingering light bitterness. Tasty.

Pours hazy golden orange color with generous white head. Nose is herbal spicy with fresh citrus. Palate offers a nice balance of biscuity malt with herbal, pine hops. This could easily pass for a West Coast IPA. Alcohol subdued, and extraordinarily drinkable for a DIPA.

Although all other qualities were spot on, someone stole this beer’s aroma!!! Beautiful tangerine pour with towering 3-inch eggshell head that leaves significant ringlets after every sip. Nose is, unfortunately, non-existent. Just a faint honey, caramel, and malt make their way up the nostrils. Flavor is bold and aggressive. Grapefruit rind, lemon zest, and orange pith on the tongue...with a bit of pine and toffee to balance it out. No real indication of alcohol. Enjoyed this.

Bottle from sparky27. (2008 stamped on the side) Drank this side by side with the regular leafer madness and this one knocked its socks off. Nice hoppy aroma as soon as the bottle cap came off. Orange in color, good head. Aroma of fruity, citrus hops. Taste is the same. Fruity and spicey hops. Well balanced and easy to drink. Overall a really nice DIPA. Beer Valley did a nice job on hiding the alcohol. Thanks E for sending this one my way!

Bomber. Good floral, pine and citrus aromas on the nose. Dark copper body with white head and some sugar coated lacing left on the pint glass. Good mix of citrus oranges and grapefruits with some sweet sugar and dry resin. Quite refreshing to to plate due to fact I was sick and drinking only water for a week before beer. Good beer.

Bomber. Pours a hazy dark gold with a dense 2 finger beige head that lasts. The nose is ripe citrus and sweet malt. The taste is caramel, pink grapefruit and orange rind with a lingering bitter pine finish. Medium mouthfeel. Good DIPA.
