Commercial Description:
Hop Harvest Edition was brewed in September of 2008 using 200 lbs of fresh Treasure Valley Chinook hop flowers from the John Wilmunster hop farm in Greenleaf, ID. A huge, fresh grapefruit profile complements the malty sweetness of this 9%, 100+ IBU fresh hop beer. Leafer Madness Imperial Pale Ale - 2008 Hop Harvest Edition has a green bottle cap and is hand stamped with "2008 Hop Harvest Edition" on the right side of the label.

22oz shared thanks to TomDecapolis. If I saw this bottle on the shelf, I never would have caught this was the Hop Harvest Edition. It was samped in green on the side of the label - and the label was colored green! Poured a medium and hazy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, lightly spicy, pine, and just hoppy. Tastes of floral wet hops, light caramel, pine, and citrus. Yep, this one was hoppy. Alcohol content well hidden

22oz bottle @Tampa Wkly Gathering shared by Ibrew2or3–pours a thin off white head and hazy gold color. Aroma is mild herbal hops, some medium malt. Taste is nice herbal/resin hops, secondary medium malt-caramel. Smooth.

Bottle… Cloudy yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Ink-blot lacework left behind. Smells of fresh, oily, grapefruit-like lupulin, toffee and pale malts. Medium-bodied with limp carbonation. Fresh, sticky, wet-hopped bitterness is pompous compared to the beer’s less significant pale malt sweetness. Grapefruit pith and rind bursts through the seams and the small gob of toffee provides little resistance. Bitter, astringent, dry finish. I’m not much of an IPA guy, but this is nice. A shout goes out to WeeHeavySD for providing this bottle!

My Bottom Line:
Resinous and sandy hops blossom into citrusy and leafy ramifications within and atop this Double IPA’s crunchy pale malts, sculpting a most compelling flavor profile.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam stays atop the cloudy blond.
-The mouthfeel is comfortable, rich yet never heavy.
-The alcohol is well hidden in the expressive hop finish, which is mostly grassy and resinous.
-This must be utter hop heaven on tap!

This came from bman1113VR or wavers1. Can’t remember who. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Smells of citrus, earth, sweet. Tastes of spice, some resin, molasses. Average,

Bottle: Hazy copper, nice sticky white head and lots of lacing. Nose of dusty hop resin, pine and orange with husk and lots of malt sweetness. Very orangey. The flavor is chewy, dry and sticky. Tons of dry hops and dusty vegetal notes. A ton of hops here, large body too. Sticky but good overall. Lupulinarific. A touch unbalanced but wow.

2009 Fresh Hop Harvest bottle sent to me by ditmier, thanks Eric for the brews and shared with Shawn: Slightly hazed coppery hue with a great creamy head which left outstanding lace upon the glass. The aroma has many dank esters of mango, pineapple, mint, grass, pepper, clove along with notes of crystal and biscuity malts as well as a touch of aspirin and salt. The taste has a nice punch of acidity and bitterness, clean hop profile with a moderate malt counter balance and constant hop spice finish. The mouth feel is lively and aggressive, sharp and a tad boozy as it warms. A real winner, I have been impressed with the beer I have had from this brewery.

Poured a hazy orange golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, tropical fruits, tangerine, toasted malts and pine. Taste of citrus fruits, pine, light caramel, resiny hops, grass, and a grapefruit, hoppy finish.
