| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2008 pours a hazed honey amber color with a soft off white head and rings of fluffy lacing. aromas of pineapple, brown sugar/toffee, caramel-y graininess, orange skin and pith and some general hoppy spice. the palate is quite well balanced and only moderately sweet. still, it could be less sugary... flavor of white grapefruit stands out among caramel, light resinous pine needles and spice from hops and alcohol. dry resinous finish. medium body with an airy texture and soft mouth feel. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Courtesy Darkguardian. Pours a clear, medium golden-orange hue. A frothy, snow white head settles to a bubbly layer, leaving sudsy micro-spot lacing behind. The aroma shows lemony and grassy hops over a light toffee background, with an annoying soapy, antiseptic note. Flavors continue this theme, with the soapy taste ruining what would otherwise make fr an interesting lemongrass toffee combination. Medium bodied and lacking substance. Overall, this just isn’t that good. It shows promise at times, but the soapy notes just kill it for me. hops1 (9), Boise, Idaho, USA does not count | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Jun 17, 2008 Bottle. Pretty disapointing. Light amber color. Flavor was terribly imbalanced too sweet and too bitter. Don’t find that too often. bhensonb (4365), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Bomber. Hazy amber color with a minimal white head. Floral hop backed by a little lightly roasted caramel. Smells like ESB. Full body with creamy carbonation. It’s floral hop and sweet malt. It’s pretty strong in flavor, but not at all harsh. I’d nominate this one for Imperial ESB. It drinks way too easy for the ABV value. Extremely tasty. The beer for the desert isle. AgentSteve (1378), SF Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Pours lighter than most IIPA’s, with more of a golden hue. Nose is a bit floral and caramel with a hint of tea. The flavor is about the same. cmillward (437), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Bottle @ ORL throwdown. Pours golden, with a thin white head. Citrus hops, some pine and floral as well, atop caramel malt aromas. Much the same in the mouth, quite sweet with citrus hops and bitter end. Decent finish, a little long.
