| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 30, 2009 22oz from BottleTrek. Slightly cloudy orange pour, with a fairly moderate head. The nose is tangy, with some grassy and citric quality but mostly floral. The taste is only slightly sticky and has a strong candy, bubblegum quality to it. I’d like to have tried this fresh, as the hops seem to have washed out a bit. Moderate bitterness in the finish, slightly dry too. Chewy yeasts tend to come to the fore in the taste too. Not bad for a lark, but nothing I’d seek out again unless fresh on tap. blazingspiral (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2009 For a bottle with so many hops on the label, I was surprised when it did not smell like fresh greenery and/or citrus fruits. Instead it smelled like caramel, hazelnuts, milk chocolate, and sweet malts. Perhaps not a fresh bottle. The first sip revealed that large quantities of hops are woven deep into the fabric of this ale, indeed. It is a blend of resinous bitterness and bready dessert flavors. I would call it a Double Pale Ale rather than a DIPA. Overall, very rich and satisfying. ndubs360 (114), portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2009 650 ml bottle from Bevmo. Pours a hazy dark gold with a big sidsy white head that had great retention and left plenty of lacing. The aroma is moderate in strength with lemons and grapefruit. The flavor is biter hops forward with citrus, pine, walnuts and some rock candy. The mouthfeel is silky smooth with lively carbonation. The finish is long with biter pine lingering. Overall: a very enjoyable IPA, but not quite there with the best San Diego IPA’s. KimJohansen (7132), Copenhagen V, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Cloudy golden with large beige head. Hoppy aroma with piney and citric notes. Hoopy flavour with notes of grapefruit and pine. Dry and bitter finish. JoeMcPhee (5025), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 31, 2008 22 oz bottle drunk on election night. Orange-golden beer with a thick white head. Aroma is quite orangey and a touch piny as well. Fairly woody as well over a very lean pale malt. Soft palate. Chewy and fairly pithy bitterness but its okay. Not as citrusy or bright as it could have been. Fairly leafy and herbal on the finish. Kind of a mixed bag. popery (196), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2008 A very good, strongly hopped beer. It pours orange gold with a soapy head and very good lacing. The aroma is oily citric orange hops mixed with sweet caramel malt. The hop aromas are rich and delicious. The flavor is a bit ashy and a bit bitter. The feel is oily, rich and a little dry. It is quite drinkable for a DIPA with fairly light alcohol notes only peeking through at times.
