Cloudy golden body with a huge billowing head. Moderate caramel sweetness with a very nice bready malt character. Floral hops all over the place with a good pine component and light citrus tones. Full bodied, creamy smooth mouthfeel. Everything you want out of a PNW IPA. Glad I picked this one up. brenn79 (182), Idaho, USA

No, seriously, this is one of the best hoppy beers I’ve had. The label says Imperial Pale, but it says on here Imperial IPA? Whatever. If you’re a hophead, this is the beer for you. Smells of citrus, strong piney hops...reefer, yes. Excelente. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 10, 2009 I hate it when a beer aroma knocks your socks off with hops, tropical fruit, and malt, yet I see an average aroma rating around 7-8. Come on, people! If a hopbomb doesn;t arouse the olfactories, then I don’t know what could! The pour here is turbid orangy with 2-finger creamy white head and a lot of concentric lace rings. Nose is caramel malt, tangerine, canteloupe, hops. Tastes caramel malty, with resiny hops, white pepper, citrus, grapefruit, and a rich, smooth, creamy palate. This one is criminally underrated. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Cloudy golden color; creamy head. Strong aromatic hops, building a nice fruity aroma and a good resiny flavor; there is a good caramel flavor too, with the necessary sugar. Long final, complete, powerful too. Solid, well brewed, very pleaant. phishpond417 (1946), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Crazy 8’s all the way down. It makes sense too. Pouring a heady beer in an old fashioned glass. Then we really know how we feel about IT. Lots of froth, stanky and dank. Fresh hops, like the bag(s) of hops in my closet. Off dry, nothing too significant but full and semi spicey. Clean. clean. clean. can’t say it enuff! No harsh bitterness just a full clean hop taste. If this beer were a buddy it would be the chronic 2009! beerguy101 (3907), Newark, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 10, 2008 This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice sticky lacing. The aroma is floral and piney hops with some sweet malt. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity, piney and floral. Decent carbonation, I wonder if the bottle conditioning is kicking in. This beer has that “I bet you can tell where I came from” Pac NW hop character to it. It’s a fairly bitter beer, but there is some malt sweetness at the start and the middle to help balance the hop assault at the finish. Nice little yeast shot at the end of the bottle. Hides the 9% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is a lingering bitterness.
