beerguy101 (3419), Newark, California, USA May 10, 2008 This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with good retention and nice sticky lacing. The aroma is floral and piney hops with some sweet malt. A medium bodied Imperial IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity, piney and floral. Decent carbonation, I wonder if the bottle conditioning is kicking in. This beer has that “I bet you can tell where I came from” Pac NW hop character to it. It’s a fairly bitter beer, but there is some malt sweetness at the start and the middle to help balance the hop assault at the finish. Nice little yeast shot at the end of the bottle. Hides the 9% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is a lingering bitterness.

Pours a cloudy gold with white minimal white head. Has a nice fruity aroma. Aroma consist of some grapefruit and a nice bitter. Full mouthfeel, but still seemed watery.....This beer seemed boring, no pizzazz....Did not seem like a high gravity beer.... JK (2355), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Jul 15, 2008 Better than average citrus hop aroma. Sweet grapefruit, especially in the aftertaste. Some malt sweetness as well. I really liked this and I am surprised to see it is rated so low for the style. raphael (243), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 13, 2008 Basic hop biterness with a squarish caramel/cardboard scent undrneath, grapefruit appearing. Cloud light amber with minimal head (from bottle), flat tasting, with a little ho edge to it. The flavor is poorly balanced, heavy on the grapefruit rind & thin. Warming finish

Bockyhorsey (1914), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bomber. Good citrus, floral and pine aromas. Copper body with off white head. Flavor is sweet citrus oranges and dry hop bitterness. Leaves the palate dry looking for a thirst quencher to balance the dry palate. Good brew. joet (1619), Fulton, California, USA Jul 7, 2008 Exactly like a gigantic Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Sweet though. Body was a bit syrupy. A bit hard to enjoy on a warm day and dare I say been there done that? Interesting and fun but the for the hefty price tag, I was hoping for a lot more hops and dry hopping and/or something really spectacular.
