2009 Bottle - Pours reddish amber with a medium off white head...aroma is a little dirty metal, a little weak grain, toasty malt...flavour is nicely balanced rough grain and caramel malt...a little thin on the finish, but totally beat my expectations...very drinkable...

A little bit of a caramel aroma. What a great surprise. This isn’t real malty, but no too hoppy either. It has a great light flavor, but enough caramel bite to it that it’s not at all boring. Great stuff. One of my favorites for the style.

Bottle from BevMo: Slight stench in the aroma of dirty laundry and bland malt which I thought smelled similar to fat tire ale. The appearance is a hazy red color with a large pillow of foam. Flavor is boring and bland with only a minor tasting of caramelized malt.

Pours with a small, off-white head over a hazy light amber body. Some lace. Aroma of light manure, light hops, grain, cereal, and caramel. Taste is caramel, lightly fruity with citrus hops, and toast. A bit fizzy and water like on the tongue.

22oz Bottle pours out a amber topped with a sand head. Aroma of malts and light sweetness. Tast more of the sweetness and malts a little hop on it.

Pours clear amber with a thick off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with earthy grain. More caramel malt in the taste. A nice roasted malt, honey, and earthy, pine hop flavors blend well. Bitter metallic finish detracts a little.

Poured from bomber a caramel-amber with large off-white head. Aroma is roasted grain and powdered cocoa. Flavor begins with a subtle sweetness with bittersweet chocolate and quickly drys out with roasted grain, caramel and malt ending in a somewhat tart finish. There is a smoothness throughout the palate running from lightly sweet to dry tart. Overall nice flavors and decent beer but rather over-priced for what’s here.

22oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Nose of light citrus and piny hops mixed with caramel maltiness; hazy amber with a medium off-white head; flavor is hop bitterness and more light hop bitterness with a malty caramel background; finish is hop bitterness.
