ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 5, 2007 Bomber: Caramel, toasted grain, and light, earthy hop aroma; creamy palate with a slightly vegetal detraction; burnt suagr maltiness with a barely perceptable piney-earthy hop finish. Yea, it’s an amber.
trokini (875), San Diego, California, USA Sep 22, 2008 Pours clear amber with a thick off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with earthy grain. More caramel malt in the taste. A nice roasted malt, honey, and earthy, pine hop flavors blend well. Bitter metallic finish detracts a little. rayOfBeer (265), El Cerrito, California, USA Sep 14, 2008 Poured from bomber a caramel-amber with large off-white head. Aroma is roasted grain and powdered cocoa. Flavor begins with a subtle sweetness with bittersweet chocolate and quickly drys out with roasted grain, caramel and malt ending in a somewhat tart finish. There is a smoothness throughout the palate running from lightly sweet to dry tart. Overall nice flavors and decent beer but rather over-priced for what’s here. Snojerk321 (1018), San Diego, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 22oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Nose of light citrus and piny hops mixed with caramel maltiness; hazy amber with a medium off-white head; flavor is hop bitterness and more light hop bitterness with a malty caramel background; finish is hop bitterness. cbkschubert (1611), Rattlesnake Country, Arizona, USA Aug 22, 2008 22 oz. bottle from BevMo - Pours a hazy amber color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted caramel malt and esters. Flavor is sweetened caramel malt and light esters. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Worth a try. SuperDave70 (822), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 12, 2008 Clear amber pour with a thin fizzy head. Aroma of sweet malt, light fruit, and citrus hops. Flavor follows the same pattern. Sweet and malty up front with a decent hop bite on the finish. A bit tingly on the palate. Not bad, but I wouldn’t search it out.
