vulcanmeister (56), La Grande, Oregon, USA Oct 4, 2008 Pours light coppery on tap with medium white head. Because I got it in a restaurant, it was colder than I would normally drink it. First taste was a nice light sweentness, floral notes and a good kick of hops. Continues with toasty malt, citrusy zest, and spice. Nice crisp bitterness at the finish. rkuhnel (1146), Eureka, California, USA Sep 23, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle this poured a golden to amber that looked like rich apple cider with a moderate dingy white head and good lacing that stuck to the glass like glue. Nose of citrus hops, mostly grapefruit, with light caramel malts. Very nice mouthfeel that was just short of sticky. Flavor was bitter and it tasted almost like an IPA, but not quite. Bitter finish that rounded off a very drinkable APA that I would easily go back to again. Snojerk321 (1026), San Diego, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 22oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a golden amber with a medium off white head. A great citrus hop aroma with a very clean and crisp finish. A great Pale Ale. Aroma – Nice amber malts with huge hops aroma.
Appearance – Amber in color, thin head and clear.
Flavor – This was more like a average IPA than a APA this was huge with hops and the malt was killed with hops .
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, IPA like texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A good beer but way too much with the hops. If it was a IPA then awesome but an APA it is way too much. But it was very drinkable... mjg74 (1806), La Mesa, California, USA Aug 14, 2008 Bomber from BevMo, La Mesa. Medium amber color upon pouring. Decent hop character. Somewhat roasted and malty. Pretty good mouthfeel. Solid APA.
