Interestingly though, it seems more bitter up front than in the middle, but a strong bitterness in the finish. I think, at least for today, I like the amber better. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2008 Picked up a single 22-oz bomber from Liquid Solutions in Portland, OR. Pours a semi-clear golden amber brew with a thick off-white head that dissipates to a thin creamy head and some spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, some light caramel malt, a touch of toffee and some white pine. Taste is quite dry bitter, medium bodied, with flavors of light caramel malt, pine, grapefruit and some vegetable. Finish is dry bitter with a lingering grapefruit aftertaste. One of the more heavy bitter APA that would challenge an IPA character beer. douglas88 (1646), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Pours a clear amber color with a thick pillowy white head. The aroma is citrus hops, light grassy elements. The flavor is smooth a nice; citrus hops, caramel, light fruit, very clean and super quaffable. This is quality. Nothing attacks you, but it stands out for its clean and balanced flavors. Does Beer Valley make anything but quality? badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with a large head. Citrusy aroma. Very leafy hop taste, like I just buried my face into a handful of fresh hops. Bitter, acidic taste. A little caramel malt body. AlabastorJones (765), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2008 fogged golden orange hue with a huge rocky/frothy white head, sticky fresh hop nose, excellent hop body, delightful citrus notes and a mild green hop tinge to the finish. This is the 1st beer i’ve had from the beer valley and I have to say that I’m impressed. Solid pale ale, reads like a slighted IPA, as any hardy pale should... and if you don;t believe me, drink one! bhensonb (4355), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 7, 2008 Bottle (conditioned!) Impressive citrus and floral aromas. Light amber color with a frothy white head. Medium body with creamy/chewy carbonation. The flavor is hop above pale malt, lightly roasted. The finish is nicely balanced and the bitter tends to build. It’s just an excellent brew. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 9, 2008 This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is floral and citrusy, touch of malt. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and piney. This beer is hoppier and bitterer than a lot of IPA and IIPAs. It is most definitely a Pac Northwest beer. The bitterness has some staying power. Nice carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter with some staying power.
