mjs (1446), Helsinki, Finland Oct 29, 2009 (Draught, Canal Street) Poured amber and clear with medium sized white head. Aroma contained hops with soap, fruitiness and grass. Palate was of medium body and with medium carbonation. Tasted of bitteness, hops, grass and fruitiness. Aftertaste was mainly bitter. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Oct 22, 2009 Tap at the Salem Location: Hazy deep golden with a fading white head. Citrusy aroma with some mild resinous qualities and a touch of bready caramel malt back. Crisp carbonation. The flavor is quite bitter and piny. Has a balancing malt presence- mild pale malt provides a body behind the abrupt long piny C-hop bitterness of grapefruit rind. A decent one-dimensional IPA. chriso (4683), London, Greater London, England Oct 21, 2009 On tap at the Canal Street location. Quite pale and a little underpowered for an IPA. Fresh and clean but lacks impact. Some grapefruit at the back end. Served very cold but actually opens up as it warms. Unfortunately, most of the pint was gone by then (I was thirsty).
MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2009 On tap during the annual Boston/Salem/Marble head tour. Copper pour with a slight haze. Citrus aroma with a nice biter bite. I liked it. jrob21 (1252), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 30, 2009 Draft at Fenway location. Bright orange color. Grassy floral mostly hop aroma. Ok, not great hop flavor and profile that is too dominated by a grapefruit bitterness without the citrus if that makes sense. Only bitter no fruit. alobar (1006), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2009 Draft at the brew pub. Clear orange color with a white soapy head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, and hops. Well-balanced flavor of pine, grapefruit, and a slightly bitter hop finish. Can certainly drink these daily. halfonit (423), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Aug 6, 2009 Has a nice darker golden color. Smells mostly of hops. It has a citrus and almost pine like undertone. Taste is of fresh hops. Has a nice bite in the end. Another good one from the B.B.W. Quevillon (1518), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada Jul 16, 2009 Bu au brewpub de Fenway en fut (16 oz), le 9 juillet 2009. Rousse miel, moyen collet. Arome d’houblon avec une touche de pamplemousse, peu amère. Goût d’houblon plutôt légé, un peu d’agrume, peu amère. C’est bien mais pas pour les massos d’houblon!
