Commercial Description:
A hop lover's delight, this American India Pale Ale is brewed with over 1.5 lbs. of hops per barrel. As with all IPAs, this beer is higher in alcohol, hop aroma and bitterness than regular pale ales, and you don't have to sail to India to enjoy it.

Pours brownish orange with a medium size head. Citrus scent. High bitter and citrus flavor. Very fresh taste. This beer is better than what others say.

Tap at brewpub, Ok nose, pine/citrus (grapefruit/orange) mix. Orange color, clear, small head. Bitter flavors, grapefruit, nutty/woody thing, litte soapy. Medium body, soapy/metallic aftertaste. Tasty, but in a one sided way. Little malt boost would improve greatly. I don’t like that (self described) soapy/metallic thing.

A nice strong IPA that flourishes on your tounge again and again. An almost metallic taste, but bold. I reward it with points for its confident strength without reaching too high. Sampled again, Autumn 2004: I continue to like the way this beer sits in the glass, and by appearance alone seems to have decent heft. A slight apple-pear aroma? Liked its texture and classy taste.

On tap in Salem: Clear orange color with a thin creamy white head. Citrus aroma, starts and ends bitter. Full bodied. Long bitter-sweet ending.
