Commercial Description:
A sweet dark ale, medium body with chocolate and coffee overtones. Full flavored, but not as rich and heavy as most stouts and porters.

One of the many fine offerings from the BBW. A smooth, yet full bodied brown ale. It even tasted great out of a plastic cup (yes, it gets a little crowded in there after a sox game).

Page 70 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide and I had this at the Boston Fenway Park location. This might be the best Brown Ale I have had and I even ordered a second one. Only 156 of MJ’s 500 Classic Brews to go.

Dark brown color with decent chocolaty lace. Creamy smooth bber, mildly nutty and sweet with slight hints of chocolaty malt. Of those that I have tried this is my favorite from the Beer Works.

Mild, but a hint of sweet maltiness. Served too cold, it lacked depth, but this was actually very drinkable. Of the samplers I had, this was the beer that I most wanted in a full pint.

On tap at the Fenway location. Nice dark brown color with some very light choco-coffee-ness in the aroma. Good nutty malty flavor, but it seemed a little watered down. Wish the flavor was a little more distinct.

On tap at Fenway location. Dark brown with ruby-orange highlights. Smells like chocolate and hazelnuts. A beer full of chocolatey goodness with a very smooth palate. Good roasted flavor balances the chocolate.

(draft) A nice malty brown ale. Very pretty lacing. There was a bit of a coffee overtone that I could have done without. Quite good though.

This is a nice brown ale. It pours cloudy brown with small head. It gives notes of chocolate and coffee on the nose and these flavors drive into the palate with the hint of hazel nut. The finish is nice and long.
