Commercial Description:
A unique twist on the California common beers, or steam beer. Brewed with lager yeast at ale temperatures and then cold conditioned, to accentuate the ingredients. Subtley sweet maltiness with a hint of caramel, combined with a lingering hop aroma make this session beer anything but ordinary! Season: all Color: deep gold/light copper

Cask at GBBF 09 ... amber ... dry musty hop nose ... big soft orange front ... little smoke ... little toffee ... soft fruit.

Cask Conditioned Gravity Dispense GBBF 09. A copper coloured beer with a bit of kiwi in the aroma. Some bitterness in the mouth together with a touch of pineapple. A whole heap of nothingness really.

Cask gravity at GBBF ’09. Many thanks to maeib for this. Copper amber. Nettly hop aroma. Taste is sweet and nettly, slightly eggy, with some metallic notes and a mid bitter finish.

Cask@GBBF 2009. "Lowell". Orange-amber color, small white head. Grapefruity, a bit resiny aroma. Not very strong. Woody-oaky flavor with mango, apricot fruityness. Easy to drink, not very personal but well-brewed.

Cask (gravity) at GBBF 2009, Day 2. Brewed at the Lowell location according to the programme. Hazy amber colour. Quite strong tangy hop aroma. Sweetish. Developing sharpness on the finish. Drank rather like an ESB - surprising given the use of lager yeast.

A light pale ale with a thin white head. A light malty aroma, non descript. A rather biscuitty malt in mouth, with light herbal hopping. Rather bland and watery. On tap at BBW, Logan airport, July 19 2009.
