A unique twist on the California common beers, or steam beer. Brewed with lager yeast at ale temperatures and then cold conditioned, to accentuate the ingredients. Subtley sweet maltiness with a hint of caramel, combined with a lingering hop aroma make this session beer anything but ordinary! Season: all Color: deep gold/light copper

Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Unclear medium amber orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, overriped orange - mandarin. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090805]

A Mes rate. Gravicask at GBBF.
Semi cloudy orange amber colour. Quite fruity. Some peach and an unusual strawberry note. The malt is ok, the hops are ok too but a little too faint. A strange one but not an epic one.

At GBBF 2009. Odd kiwi fruit/strawberry flavour. Dirty somehow, earthy, strawberry. Just not quite right somehow.

On the second day at the GBBF, I continued drinking from the USA bar. This one, presented in the BSF program as Lowell Beer Works, was poured from gravity cask into my one-third pint glass and revealed a slightly hazy, orange coloured body. Smell of fruity malts. Taste of herbal hops and late fruity sweetness. Lightly bittersweet finish. Ordinary (London, 05.08.2009).

Cask, GBBF 09. Cloudy amber with a small head. aromas are toast with peppery notes and spices. Flavours are malty with citrus and yeast. Caramel and biscuit with a light dry finish. A bit boring but OK.
