Draught at the brewpub. Clear amber color with thin off white head that dissipated quickly. Biscuity malt aroma with a touch of sprucy hops. Dry on the tongue and a bit spicy. Nice malty caramel flavor. Decent red.

On draft at Salem Beer Works. Deer amber with a small white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts and citrusy hops. The flavor is weak, bitter, and sweet malts. Thin body, ok brew.

Draught @ Fenway: This one pours a Reddish-amber color. It has a small white head and some lacing. A little better aroma than their other red. There are some spicy hops and a bit of caramel. The taste is a touch dry, with some spiciness and a good medium body. A good session beer.

Draught @ Fenway location 4/27/06. Ok nose, sour. Yogurt, doughy, little vinegar, nutty. Hazy orangy brown, ok head and lacing. Sweet malty flavor. Little fruity, (grapefruit, green apple). Medium body, lite creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. I just may never be an amber drinker.

Draught at Boston Beer Works 4/27/06. Pours a cloudy dark red color with an off white head. Nose is lightly nutty with some very nice strong malty notes. Palate is smooth and creamy. Flavorful notes of nuts and a strong malt presence, a sour apple hint in the finish.

On cask at fenway location -- hugely dissapointing beer. It looked and smelled great in the glass, but damn did it become syrupy on the tongue. Little in the way of unique taste, I have no idea what cellar they "reserved" this one in -- but it sure didn’t do much.

On tap at the brewpub, listed as Red Victory: Clear orange/red with a small white head, light malts in the aroma, watery mouthfeel with light carbonation, starts and ends lightly bitter. I may have rated this too highly as I was so happy not to be drinking the iced tea beer.
Earlier Rating: 1/5/2004 Total Score: 3.6
On tap in Salem: Orange amber color with no head. Biscuity aroma, huge grainy taste, full bodied. Slight sweet ending.
