Oily dark brown pour with a decent sized tan head, plenty of bitter chocolate and coffee in the nose, roasted caramel and peanuts, cherries and plums throughout. Sweet and buttery finish. Aroma of dark malts and a little sweetness. Flavor was much more balanced than I expected from a sweet stout - malty, yes, but slightly sweet as well. Very good beer. Best head retention of any of the Beer Works beers I had. Aroma has a little chocolate, roasted malts. Flavor is similar to aroma. Slightly creamy and smooth mouthfeel and finish.
