Commercial Description:
Brewed like the stout that made Ireland famous and named after Boston's most memorable mayor, this beer has a lot to live up to. Brewed with roasted and flaked barley and Kent Golding hops, this ale is smooth, rich and very dry.

Draught at the brewpub. Opaque black color with tan head that left some lace. Roasty nose. Dry on the tongue with coffee and dark chocolate flavors. mild bitter roasty finish.

I am not a huge stout fan. Drank this with stegosaurus as part of our salem/boston tour. On tap at salem beer works, pours dark with a small head but good head retention. Roasted malts are very apparent in the aroma. Coffee taste disagreed with me. Stegosaurus nails this one perfect.

On draft at Salem Beer works. Pours dark with a small compact off white head. Aroma of chocolate malts, roast, and hops. The flavor is coffee, roast, and a bitter finish. Drinkable, but nothing to write home about.

Tap@Beer Works, Boston, Ma. Typical Irish Stout, but better than most from Ireland. Dry mocha flavours, creamy and smooth. Drinkable stout, but nothing new.

poured vlack with a bone head which had great retention. A nice roasted aroma mainly coffee notes. boring one=dimentional coffee flavor, but it was a full beer.

At Canal St. Location. During sampling, GeniusGirl sez: "Ruby color, espresso!" and she’s right. That’s about the only thing you see in the beer. Espresso taste. Very smooth. It’s really the raw espresso taste you get here, but its still smooth! Good lacing, coats the side of glass. A slight off-note with the flavor, unsure of what to make of that.
