Commercial Description:
"In fermento veritas." Bière aux 10 épices (10 spices) BeerMania is not a brewery, the "Mea Culpa" (or Mea Maxima Culpa, the same in 75cl bottle - there is even Ultima Culpa, but that's an incredibly large artsy glass) is brewed upon Nassers' own recipe at a Belgian brewery. He declines sofar to tell which, untill he has all contracts signed and papers worked out...

Bottled(330ml). -as Mea Culpa Blond
Light hazy yellow/golden coloured, medium sized white head that went away fast. Very sparkling (like champagne). Strong peppery spicy coriander aroma with notes of yeast and fruits (apple and lemon). Touch of alcohol in the spicy finish. Odd but nice brew.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of BelJohansen. Slightly hazy golden with a lively, lacing white head. Distinct aroma of coriander and a little yeast. Medium-bodied with sweet fruits and some rather perfumy coriander notes. Basically no bitterness. 260208

33 cL bottle. Pours almost clear yellow with a white head. Light fruity and light spiced aroma. Flavour is sweet caramel and a mild yeast flavoured. Light spiced flavour following. Ends with a light Belgian yeast lingering finish.

From a 33cl bottle at Beer Mania, poured a gold color. Light-bodied and overall very mellow in both the hops and malt. An OKAY Belgian blonde.

Very pale blonde/straw colour. Massive rocky head. Very bright pale Belgian malt aroma, peppery spice and some light zesty lemony character. Soft mintiness as well that creates a very inviting quality. Flavour is excellent, bright combination of lemon and mint with a soft earthy yeast quality as well. The beer itself is bone-dry but there are lots of lovely fruity and citrusy flavours that give a sweet impression. Even a hint of ginger on the back. Very balanced. I wasn’t really expecting much from this contract brew, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Cloudy straw yellow pour topped by a large belgianesque head that lasts and laces into fun shapes. Pleasant, rather firm pilsner malts bend under the surprisingly impressive floral, saazy hoppiness touched by zesty lemon tones. Bready yeast profile paired with hops does not quite tame the sweetness and the volcanic carbonation seems a bit agressive at times, but the ending result remains a pleasant one and the beer a success.
