Aroma is nice, Sweet and malty, a little bit of fruit and spice with some floral hops evident as well. Sweet caramel malts with a nice hop profile and citric bite. Light body and aggressive carbonation. This is a crisp refreshing amber. Better than I was expecting. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Head disapated quickly, but left nice lacing nonetheless. Aromas of caramel and hoppy citrus. Flavors of hops too. Very good finish. flutetokill (515), Fresno, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 17, 2005 Slightly cloudy cherry chestnut color with a large off-white head. The aroma was full of roasty tones, nutty tones, some nice pine/citrus hops, and an interesting spearmint character. The flavor was full-on roasted/nuttiness with a citrusy twang at the end. The feel was slightly crisp, slightly watery...semi-wet finish. Very nice amber ale. I was really surprised! BigBastard (668), L.A., California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2005 Nice hop bite with a slight caramel sweetness to offset the bitterness. The price is what caught my eye, this is a great beer at a good price. DaSilky1 (1980), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2005 poured a orange-red influenced amber color with a ring of suds. crystalized resin aroma with notes of burnt sugar, dough, mint, and caramel. The aroma has a hint of an aged feel to it. Full body with decent balancing of hops and caramel maltiness..hops are somewhat minty & herbal...Flawless for the style but doesn’t do much for me.
