Clear medium amber brown color with a average, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee, brown sugar notes, coffee notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Sweetnes is brown sugar sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090124]

Cask at smithfiled Manchester 2009... Dark brown ... light roast malts nose ... sweet toffee little chocolate ... quite sweet ... hop in background.. quite fruit.

A Sim rate (Smithfield Hotel fest): Sweet and hoppy aroma with a bit of apple and pineapple. Brown color - dark, but not opaque. Wood, nutty flavour that’s bitter, but malty sweet. It’s ok, but much too bitter in the finish.
