Commercial Description:
Dark ruby color, moderate head of foam, big fruity nose. Robust fruity palate is packed with apple-pear character, nice malt backbone, barely balancing hops in the finish.

Pours a crystal clear reddish-copper. A foamy, off-white head leaves tiny rings and random spots on the glass. Notes of glazed biscuit, toasted caramel malts, and mild floral hops comprise the nose. Flavors are basically the same, with perhaps a touch of spice to accompany the floral hop component. There’s also a doughy yeast element in there. The palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied, smooth and creamy, but finishing dry and slightly astringent. Certainly nothing to write home about, which is typical of Shipyard.

12oz bottle. Pours a lovely brownish red with a small whitish head. Aroma of biscuit and hops with a hint of caramel. Taste of caramel and some floral hops. Clean taste with a lingering breadiness. Not bad but it’s pretty basic. Good session amber.

Light red in color. Slightly small head that lingers the entire beer. Smells pretty good with a fruity smell. The fruitiness and other tastes in the beer are all well matched but I did not enjoy the ending. A decent amber none the less.

Bottle; poured an auburn/amber color with medium, thick head. Aroma was malty; with caramel, toffee, must, fruit and toasted malt. Flavor was ok; some decent bitterness. Palate seemed astringent. Ok overall.

Thanks to Ian for the bottle. Pours a nice amber red with a thick white head. Slightly malty aroma. Taste is smooth and malty with a touch of hops.

Bottle dated Aug 08. No mention of Shipyard. Clear amber, big head. Aroma hints at sweet malt and faint citrus hops. This is pretty much it. Hops are subtle and dry at the finish. I got the tangy edge that others did, but not so much the diacetyl. Body is a bit light and fizzy; for summer, really.

Bottle… Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Toffee, caramel and honey nose with lesser notes of unidentified fruit. Barely medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Leans on the bitter side of balance while providing restrained flavors of toffee and fruit. A touch bland. Short, crisp finish.

Bottle. Amber color, creamy offwhite head. Malty aroma, caramel notes. Malty flavor as well, a bit onedimensional. Weak hoppy finish.
