leaparsons (4659), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Oct 2, 2009 Bottle Hazy gold with a large off-white foam. Aromas are biscuit malts with pineapple and lemon. Hoppy with grapefruit and hints of pine. Flavours are dried apricot and pineapple with lots of grapefruit bitterness. Yeasty and dry with peppery hops on the finish. Good. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 1, 2009 Bottle, shared by HenrikSoegaard at his place. It’s an almost clear, golden beer topped by a fluffy two-finger white head. Quite resiny hoppy on the nose with some pale malts left in the background. There’s some alcohol to be found in the flavor, but resiny hops over a layer of pale malts dominate. Spicy too, but the flavor is a bit one-dimensional and warming maybe. Effervescent, dry and medium to full body. It rounds off with a fine bitterness. A decent hop-driven Belgian, but lacking something. 090821 SaintMatty (1197), Tallinn, Estonia Aug 29, 2009 330ml Bottle - Golden coloured with a white head. Slightly hoppy and spicy aroma. Slightly spicy taste with some soapy and hoppy elements. Not bad. HenrikSoegaard (4263), Randers, Denmark Aug 21, 2009 Bottle. Frothy white excellent fully lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and heavy hoppy grassy and flowery aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Strong hoppy notes. Long nice bitter finish. OIly palate. Really nice beer. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Aug 16, 2009 Bottle @ Bier Circus, Brussels. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with some citrus hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy citrus finish. sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland Aug 10, 2009 (Bottled) Clear yellow-golden with a large head (gushing a bit). Aroma of grassy hops, honeyish, pale-malty fruitiness and hints of pear. Pear-fruity, honey-pale-malty flavor with a touch of acidity and alcohol, and some grassy hops in the finish. Medium body, very foamy carbonation. Like Duvel with more hops and less alcohol, but not quite in balance. I didn’t think it was too sweet, but I could do with less foam. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Jul 23, 2009 Draught @ ZBF 2009, St.-Niklaas, Belgium. Unclear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, moderate hoppy, flowers, citrus. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Fresh. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090307] Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Jul 16, 2009 The beer floods out of the bottle upon opening. The color is hazy golden and the head is huge and white. The aroma has notes of yeast, citrus, malt and fruit. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of malt, fruit, citrus, yeast and it has a somewhat unbalanced and crude, dry grapefruit bitterness in the finish. The softness from the oats is lingering in the background.
