TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Nov 1, 2009 Pours hazy golden with some visible yeast and a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Notes of yeasty esters: pear, spice, white grape, spice, light citrus, bubble gum and pale malt. Medium to full bodied with soft, lush carbonation. KyotoLefty (1371), Kyoto, Japan Oct 1, 2009 Bottle.
Cloudy yellow-orange color, somewhat pale, with a huge head. Citrusy golden malt aroma, honey and biscuits. Pilsner character evident. Sweet pilsner malt and honey flavor, cereals, a touch of butter, wheat. Like a smooth, thick, pilsner with a bit of Belgian yeast! Citrus fruits are restrained, as is general fruitiness. Light noble hop finish. Very smooth, creamy body. Very original, and decently made, though not exactly great. Too sweet and cloying, with not enough hops, though the malt character is interesting. (I just found out it was a 4 grain beer. The oats are definitely having an impact on body, the wheat on taste. Needs hops!) Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 9, 2009 Pours hazy golden with a small off white head. Aroma is light fruits and a little spice. Flavor is light malts, champagne like white grape, with hints of banana and spice. Pretty good. mulderbelgie (10), Belgium Sep 9, 2009 not my favorite, too many "bready" on the tongue and carton taste like. i don’t like it, but compared to many of the beers that can be tasted worldwide, it’s a good beer. thornecb (1736), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 1, 2009 Updated: Sep 2, 2009Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head pancakes as it slowly recedes to coat surface. Coriander and yeast aromas. Creamy sweet bubblegum upfront; turning crisp in the yeasty finish. Improves remarkably as it warms. Sour coriander-orange aroma with a woody bitterness. Hazy, light orange appearance with a thin, white, lasting top. Woody bitter, sugary flavour that is not sweet. Herbal notes that include coriander and a swampy bitterness. Light body, moderate carbonation, slightly sour-bitter finish.
