On tap at Spinnaker Hotel in Gourock, Scotland. This is one of my all time favourite beers, from one of my all time favourite breweries. I have been lucky enough in the past to drink this one in the Belhaven Brewery itself :D A very malty old friend of mine. NB it’s 80/- NOT Scottish Ale ;)

Deep copper with lacing thin head, very malty nose and palate. My notes have this cask conditioned version at 4.2%, one of the best Scottish ales.

0,5 l bottle and 3,9% ABV. Nice appearance with reddish color and a lacing small head. Excellent fruity aroma- orange, some wild strawberry. The flavour is complex, oily, fruity with roasted malt and good hop, balanced carbonation. I will buy more and more ales, i like the top fermented beers! Caledonia pub too...

This used to be a regular pint, haven’t had it in a while. Until now - I’d forgotten how good it can be. Copper colour, minimal head. Smokey, peaty malt nose. Earthy flavour medium mouthfeel, peaty, malty finish. Rerate - cask in the Oxford Bar, Edinburgh. Great pint. So much better on Cask. That Belhaven house character works properly in this style.

[on tap at Sunset Grill and Tap] Clear, yellowy amber with excellent foamy blanket leaving nice lace. Aroma a bit musty with subtle english hops. Surprising peat flavour that wasn’t apparent in the aroma in good balance with malt and low bittering. Very clean finish. Medium body and low carbonation. This beer was very good, just a bit weak. Technically superb.

Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki. Aroma of flowers, honey, even blueberries. The foam is not too thick, the colour is that of dark cola. Strong hops all the way through the taste, blueberries and citrus eniment. Thew finish has some smoke in it.
