This is on nitro..i think.
After the cascadeing effect has finished. Its a nice enough looking pint brown with hints of garnet. Lovelly tan creamy head .
Not much aroma to this. But it doesnt stink.
Nice actually, caramel/toffeeish hints in the flavours. Malts are slightly roasty.
Nice on the palate, very smooth.
Overall drinkable yet uninspiring.
This seems to be taking over in my old neck of the woods ( NE Scotland). Sammy (3999), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Strong nutty, caramel, crystal malt aroma is just on the too strong side. Flavours include caramel, nutty malt and a lingering crystal malt flavour. Sweet honeyed finish. Ok-ish to good. webjedi (249), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 14, 2006 First Scottish beer I had while on a visit, but it didn’t inspire me to want mor eof the local brews. I think, in a match to a US phrase, much like "Milwaukee’s Best" gets the moniker of "Milwaukee’s Worst" this could stick here. It had the scent of malty vomit. It did get better when served with food, but the taste left something to be desired. When given the opportunity to have another, I passed. I coudl put this down to a dirty tap or an old keg (Deacon Brodies). Light brown, like dirty water, and as before, scents of vomit malt. I thought it was a golden ale, but alas, turned out to be a very unimpressive bitter. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 11, 2006 1/2 pint draught. Clever Dicks, Edinburgh. Light brown colour. Tall white consistent creamy head. Aroma is very lager-like with a typical German character, except that there is also a clear indication of it being an ale. Lightly roasted malts with a crisp bitterness, much like you’ll find in a Kilkenny. Gives an industrial mass-produced profile as it is extremely clean and flavourless - and at the same time characterless. Decent, but lacks an attitude. TheGrandMaster (1858), Auckland, New Zealand
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 30, 2006 Pint of Belhaven Best poured (keg) at The Gleaneagles Golf Club, a brown amber colour with a large thick creamy head. Caramal malt aroma. Smooth(ish), but lacking much of a mouthfeel, caramal malt flavours again, though hints of honey as well. Would like to try it from cask. Nekronos (2265), Xalapa, Mexico
