Pretty much a bland, altogether tasteless, liquid. Why anyone would want to drink this is beyond me. It was bought for me in my absence ( I had to go to the cashpoint and hadn’t said what I wanted to drink) These "draught" beers are more about texture than flavour. Poured slightly hazy light reddish amber with a typically huge, creamy, off-white head that lasted the whole pint. Aroma is very interesting - sharply malt-sweet, some hops, and a decided resiny petroleum tang - not nasty, but pungent. Taste follows the nose, very sweet with some grains, tree fruits and still that tarry taste - at first it’s a little unusual, but a couple of swallows it goes down very nicely indeed. Very creamy mouthfeel. I would like to try it on cask. cyclingbrewer (1), England does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 24, 2005 One of the best beers i have ever tasted.
