Very short lasting mild sour berry fruit aroma on opening bottle that disappointingly quickly fades to faint woody hops and stronger malt especially as it warms. Medium low carb almost flat body. Flavours are much closer aligned to a trad brit ale than any kind of fruit beer character. Medium woody cask like bitter start. Soft malty flat cola like watery middle and back to medium light dry bitter finish. I think the closest that fruit has been to this beer is that perhaps some fruit was stored in the cellar at the time of brewing nigos (620), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England

Bronze hue virtually no head. Taste is very nutty earthy and like burnt malt. One thing you can hardly taste is the fruit. Very strange a fruit beer with no fruit LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA

I was expecting a more interesting appearance, but it was just plain old light-amber with a disappointing head. Very interesting and unique aroma: grapes, a hint of vinegar, somewhat lambic-ish. Unfortunately the flavor doesn't quite follow through on this. It's more like stale bread with some maltiness. Not the rich berries and grapes that I was hoping for... joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 6, 2003 Amber, little head in the glass. Aroma strongly of sweet fruit, berries. Syrupy sweet fruit flavour, I noticed raspberries, maybe strawberries. The fruits overpower each other. Too jumbled. johndoughty (2159), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 5, 2003 Pours well with a medium sized head.Initial taste reminded me of rasberies but after a while other fruits seemed to be battling to get through. Not a bad attempt at a fruit beer and the brewery are to be congratulated on trying something different. radiomgb (2056), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Aroma of strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and quite a bit of sweetness. Flavour is really sweet, rather syrupy and somewhat fake tasting. Finishes very sweet with some light bitterness.
