Crosling (1660), Loveland, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2008 Appears brown in the glass, with a spider-like, wispy and thin head that is nearly white, maybe a little tan. Aroma is mainly dominated by dark fruits (grapes, plums, apples), but also has some very light notes of cocoa, caramel and cookie. Flavor is pretty well balanced for a dead, filtered beer. Dark fruits, with hints of caramel, cocoa. It’s a fairly decent beer.
norsedoc (155), USA Apr 1, 2008 Tap at Falling Rock. Dark black beer with thin tan head. Strong bitter chocolate and sour flavors. Very roasty. More thin than I was expecting for an imperial stout. ratman197 (2344), Arvada, Colorado, USA Mar 31, 2008 On tap @ Falling Rock poured an opaque black with a small lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of carmel, chocolate, roastiness,m coffee and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roasatiness, light coffee and a hint of vanilla with a smooth lingering bitter finish. Zinister (892), Houston, Texas, USA Jan 15, 2008 Tap at Gman after the 2nd Houston Tasting. Great black color with nice creamy head. Nose of chocolate and faint pitted fruits. Flavor is creamy chocolate, raisin and coffee. Enjoyable. KAggie97 (1918), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jan 14, 2008 Tap at Gingerman, post-2nd Houston Tasting. Pours a beautiful jet-black with a solid cream head. Raisiny chocolate nose with just a hint of smoke. Tastes like a bastardized mixture of molasses and raisin. Full mouthfeel. Not a good stout, in my opinion.
