Another bottle iv seen many times but never actually tried. Aroma is minimal to start with but as it warms becomes nicely malted and little sweetness. Taste is peaty which warms to become a fruity peatiness with a wet finish. Rather better than expected and more of a scotch ale than a bitter.

Bottled. Pours a clear amber, with a white head. Aroma is sweet malty, Lots of caramel, and some hops. Taste is sweet, caramel, but with a nice bitterness to offset the sweetnes. Nice beer

A fine looking ale, clear with a tight off-white head, good steady bead. Light fresh nose, and a well balanced palate. Soft malt dominates, with bitter hops appearing on the longish finish. Admittedly not Belhavens best, but a good sound brew nevertheless. (Wasn’t this brewed by Tennents a long time ago?..the label is the same...or am I drinking too much?)

[bottle from ASDA] pours a deep red with a moderate head. nose is fruity, but this is hidden behind a heavy butterscotch aroma which isnt pleasant. weak body, not great stuff.

Bottled. Malty flavor. Not bad but not great either. Dark ruby color with little head.

Pours deep red brown with a medium sized tawny head. Good retension. Malty and sweet of brown sugar and corn syrup. Body is weak, not much substance. A dissapointment.

0.5 L bottle. Clear, light brown beer with a head that disappeared immediately. Flavour was sweet but much too watery. Very uninteresting.
