Crisp cheap lager aroma. No real distinguishing characteristics. Pours a dark caramel with a foamy white head. Bitter boring flavor, slightly sweet yuengling. Disappointing, blah palate, bubbly and tangy.

Dec 30, 2008 500ml bottle as Export 80 Shilling Ale purchased at a Wine Rack store in St Andrews, Scotland. Pours an off-white head resting for a while on top of a golden brown body. Decent laceworks. Modest smell of plain malts. Assorted flavours of grain, malt and fruit, ending with a touch of bitter berries. Partial fizzy in the mouth [St Andrews 01.11.2008].

Pours a nice dark brown with thick rich tan head.
Aroma is bready, sweet, and yeasty, nice.
The flavor is sweet up front, a bit meaty, smoky, with a bit of bitterness at the back of the tongue.
Palate is nice and creamy.
This is a good beer, probably a good introduction to better beer for people new to good beer.

Dec 24, 2008 Draught can. Nice light amber color. White head with decent lacing. Sweet malt nose with hints of vanilla. Same with the flavor. Bit too smooth for me, could be due to the fact that it is from a can.
