Bottle. [thank you, Bigbro]
Pours a pretty brownish amber with a small white film head. Aroma is malty caramel. Flavour is weak caramel, rye bread and a weak peppery bitterness. A little thin and boring.

I had this one in Edinburgh 2005 on tap, and also tried it in the bottle in Switzerland, 2007, always enjoyable. Pours an amber colour with white, well-retaining head. Has nice big malty taste, some caramel sweetness notes with light body. Easy drinking pint.

From the bottle, this is a dark copper with a thick, dense, long-lasting light tan head, very good, long-lasting lacing. It smells of toasty, yeasty bread with a fruity sweetness, caramel, pine and earth. It tastes moderately fuill-bodied, sweetish with a light, juicy and piney bitterness. It has a toasted malty flavour and body, caramel, bread, juice, prunes. There is a very evident, but well-balanced and not overpowering crisp, hoppy bitterness up front that fades nicely into a malty finish. It’s wonderful, being incredibly drinkable and smooth yet very full of flavour.

Nitro Can. Aroma of English malts with a little smoke and a subltle bitterness. Pours amberish. Flavor is similar to aroma. Malty with touches of smokeyness and a delicate bitter finish. Smooth and easy drinking. Enjoyable.

12oz bottle at Annie Bailey’s, Lancaster, PA...pours cream soda brown...smell is mild, malty, sweet toffee-like...taste is of caramel and butterscotch...thin-medium mouthfeel...I passed this one up one night earlier at The Pressroom, but there it was the next night...I’m glad I tried it...good bitter, but unlike other bitters I’ve had before...bartender was way off telling me it was over 5 abv.
