Pours golden with some amber notes. The malt is heavy in the nose and the palate. It drinks and finish and finishes smooth.

Bottled, 500ml, filtered. Gold with white head, carbonated. Immediate wet cardboard taste from the carbonation, thin and lightly flavoured. Not really sure what they are trying here, there is an earthy taste which normal lager drinkers would not want, in fact no flavour is the preference. Poor.

Golden, nice head. The aroma is malty and lightly hopped. The flavour is weird, it has notes of peat and smoke and no bitterness. I didn’t like it.

a cherry and then nutty malt taste. low level of carbonation with a minimalistic approach. clean, clean tasting brew that is moderate in body and weak but pleasant in taste and aroma. light metallic taste that seems unvoidable based on the very light and scaled back smokiness that was present many years ago. definite hop profile that is laid back. this is a pretty good beer to a discerning and experienced beer hound. i taste no cardboard whatsoever. perhaps peat.

500ml bottle from Franglais, Calais. Gold colour with thick white head. Cardboard, stale malt aroma, some faint hop. Bit nothingy in mouth. Metallic crisp carbonation on end. Some fragrant hop. Some very wet cardboard. Oh dear. Ugly. It’s a dull empty lager.

Bottle. Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of malt, hops and grain with a bitter finish.
