Bottle and served in a standard no-nik pint glass: Pour deep brown with a lovely creamy tan head and fairly good lace, amazing what you can do without a nitro widget? The aroma has notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, molasses, faint dusty yeast, prune and coffee esters. The taste is moderately malt forward with sweet chocolate overtones and toasty bread. A nice coffee and slightly salty note adds balance and complexity. Finished with a hint of woody smoke, very laid back hop bitterness and dark fruit acidity. The mouth feel appears thinner than you expected from the pour but it actually adds to the drinkability of the beer. All in all I found this to be a pleasant surprise, an easy drinking yet complex enough stout.

Black body with a well lasting tan head. Despite other reviews I get more coffee than the chocolate, smooth in the taste, balanced with decent hop presence, and notice the alcohol late in the peace.

Dark brown with a tan head. Nice aroma is mineral with light cocoa and roasty nutty malts. Smooth light/medium body. Lightly sweet malted chocolate flavor with medium roasted malts and an earthy kelp essence. Good stout.

Pours translucent deep brown with a creamy beige head. Nutty chocolate aroma. Light-ish body and medium-light carbonation. Rather sweet taste with roasty caramel chocolate, molasses and a dash of prune. Baker’s chocolate finish with a hint of smoke. A pretty solid offering.
