Oct 19, 2009 500mL bottle. Pours almost pitch black, with a tiny bit of red on the edges. Nice tan head. Sexy.
Nice malt aroma, very burnt. Coffee and caramel, a bit of fruit (raisin?).
Nice warm chocolaty roast flavour, a bit of coffee on the finish, a little smoke.
Nothing too intense here, making this one quite drinkable and unintimidating.
Goes well with a cigar too. But generally I like a bit more oomph in my Stouts.

Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Poured a nice black body with thin head. aroma is bitter chocolate, roast. Flavor is smooth very subtle flavors of chocolate, malt with a nice full body.

Oct 16, 2009 Bottle (in NZ). Pours black with a pillowy orange/tan head. A subdued nose, just a touch of roasty malt. A sappy/vinuous palate, A burnt malt flavour, with some milk chocolate. A dryish finish, a little harsh.

Oct 3, 2009 Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Strong chocolate notes. Moderate bitter light sweet flavor. Strong chocolate notes again. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Very nice SWEET stout.
