500mL bottle. Pours almost pitch black, with a tiny bit of red on the edges. Nice tan head. Sexy.
Nice malt aroma, very burnt. Coffee and caramel, a bit of fruit (raisin?). Nice warm chocolaty roast flavour, a bit of coffee on the finish, a little smoke.
Nothing too intense here, making this one quite drinkable and unintimidating. Goes well with a cigar too. But generally I like a bit more oomph in my Stouts.

Malty, chocolate, & light earthiness, with a ’sweet malty’ aroma dominate. Clear, dark to style with a nice head. Straightforward chocolate, even milk chocolate, nice maltyness yet dry, and bitterness are the first impressions. As the beer lingers light molasses and salty notes are apparent. Mouthfeel is hurt through over carbonation, it could be so smooth! Overall it suffers from being over carbed and too bitter for a ’scottish’ styled stout. However it is a well balanced straightforward stout/foreign stout attempt. I’ll have again and suggest it to others. Could be great if problems were corrected. It’s not overly complicated, flavors meld well together.

500 ml. bottle. Shared with Anne and Arlo. Pours a thin mocha head of short duration, with some lacing, over a brown (SRM 30) body.....nose is coffee, chocolate, soy, beef......taste is coffee, chocolate, beef, soy sauce, finishing hop bitterness, dry throughout.....mouth feel is medium to light, carbonation is a bit too high. This is a pleasant dry Stout.

Nice, smooth, not overly bitter Scottish stout. Very nice. Lovely palate. Reminds me of resisting the British.

Bottle: Literally black, firm tanned head; sweetish "smoky" nose with traces of dried fruits and chocolate; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; sweet toasty and fruity-chocolatey finish with a roast-malty-bitter aftertaste. Unfortunately a bit too much on the sweet side, but otherwise a good, flavourful Stout......

500 ml. bottle- Pours Black with a thick head, aroma is of alcohol. The flavor is roasted malt and the usual flavors in a Imperial stout. What intrigued me about this one is that it is an authentic Scottish stout, and a very good one at that. It’s not as bold as your typical Imperial American Stout, but it is smoother, and I could drink this all night.

Motor oil pour, low head and lace. Smokey, bready aroma. Bitter malty flavor, with a wheaty bready mouth, and a lot of chocolatey bitter coffee flavors. Medium carb, thick, smokey roasted soy and worcestershire sauce. Lots of chocolate, like a milkshake. Some alcohol comes in at the end. Woody, biscuity, just a hint of worcestershire sauce. Outstanding.

Will pour a five+ finger light tan head that fades quickly to a thin layer, leaving some lace. Black color no highlights. Light-medium carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Light chocolate nose. Flavor is roasted chocolate, somewhat sweet. Dry finish. $4.99 for a 500ml bottle from Manchester Wine and Liquors Manchester, CT.
